The people of South Boston have, once again, let their hearts speak out. Faced with a large electric bill in order to use the lights at M Street Park this summer, the M Street Softball League's first ever Las Vegas Nite was a huge success. The league now is in good financial shape to pay off the bill for the lights for 1981. The season will begin play on Tuesday with four games scheduled. The year stretches now through the end of July, with playoffs beginning about the first week in August. Due to generous support of Southie, the 16 teams and it's 288 players and managers will 'play ball' this summer. |
