With one half of the season over it looks like a scramble to see which teams make the playoffs. In the National League, the YIP Club continues to win behind the power hitting of Bob Dunkle and Nino Sances and the masterful pitching of Edso Foley.

The Square Cafe's old man Scubby and youngster Pat O'Toole have kept them in hot pursuit of the YIP's. Rabbit Inn, after a slow start, has jumped into third place and it looks like it will be tough for anyone to get them out.

The Chips Club set in an unfamilar fourth spot but after losing some ball players to Whitey's seem to be heading back to where they used to be.

In a game last week in a losing effort, Jack Farrell of the Chips hit one of the longest balls hit at M Street. Keep up the good work Jack!

Whitey's Place, with ace pitcher Marty Donlan and a few other Chips players, are making a challenge for the playoffs. Whitey's owner seems to have done some smooth talking during the winter to get his new ball players.

In the american League, Canavan's Pub continues to dominate as coach Jack O'Brien puffs on his cigar and pitcher Tommy Greene snuff sout the opposition. Gavin's moved into the second spot with first baseman Paul Carroll and utility player Bob White, both new to the aged club, playing well.

Cassidy's is slumping a bit but their tallent is still good and they will be a strong contender.

Social Club is in fourth with the Morancy and Sullivan brothers leading the way. The big old timer with the funny green hat is Jack Clougherty, who hist shots like you wouldn't believe.

J& J Liquor has been riddled with injuries but are still hanging in the fifth spot. Jerry Etro has been playing almost every position and probably would be selling popcorn in the stands if he had the time.
