The annual all-star softball game between the City Point Stars and the Lower End Stars will be played next Wednesday night, July 5, starting at 7:30 o'clock at Christopher Lee Playground, M Street. In games in the South Boston Softball League last week, St. Christopher upset Amrhein, 11-7, as Jim Aylward and Fran McNamara hit home runs. Fred Melchione homered for the losers. I.A. upended Beach Tavern, with Tom Murphy leading the attack witha homer and triple. Rocky DiLorenzo also homered for I.A. League standings at press time had Pleasure Bay Lounge leading with a 10-3 record, followed by I.A. Restaurant (8-3) and Amrhein's (8-4). |
