The end to 'Scramble Week' in the M Street Softball League will determine which one of four teams in both American and National divisions will put away the bats and balls for the summer. The 'final four' may already be setup, depending on this week's action, but for sure, defending chapion Triple O's and the Bayside Club will shout 'play ball' on Monday when the playoffs begin. Four teams in the American (Teamster's, Ford, Canavan's, Square) and four in the National (Rabbit's, Old Harbor, Old Towne, YIP) will vye for the three remaining playoff spots with only Rabbit's, Old Towne and Teamster's having any chance of stealing away seemingly solid first place finishers for Triple O's and Bayside. However, if the Rabbit's beat the YIP Club on Monday, take the coolers to M Street Park tonight for the pennant deciding game between th euppity Rabbit's (9-3-2) and Triple O's (12-3-0) at 9PM. Though Rabbit's dreams of first place are realistic, depending on whether they beat YIP on Monday, the Teamster's catching Bayside is a monumental task. The Teamster's (9-2-1) must defeat the Ford Club, Square, Canavan's (tonight) to setup a pennant showdown with the Baysiders on friday (7:30). Still, th eplayoff picture tunes in clearer in the american loop. The Square must have beaten both Canavan's and Teamster's to even have a chance. If not, the playoff teams are set here. Rabbit's could easily fall out of the playoffs altogether if they lose to both the YIP and the O's. Old Towne Tavern, meanwhile, could sneak into a first place tie as well if they take their final three games this week and Triple O's is hopped on by the Rabbit's. It's now been 59 days since Bayside felt the sting of defeat!
